Fruitessence was created by the Yungaburra Raspberry Farm, a small family farm on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, Australia.
We work with nature to grow nutritious and delicious raspberries and other crops including native Atherton raspberries, bananas and blue butterfly pea flowers.
We are passionate about our environment and farming sustainably. Using beneficial insects, biologicals (beneficial fungi and bacteria) and approved organic inputs, we let nature help with pest control. No nasty chemical pesticides or fungicides are used on our crops! Follow us on Instagram @yungaburra_raspberries to see our farm and how we do it.
Fruitessence was born out of the need for a solution to a problem. The raspberry fruiting cycle occurs over a narrow window of time. The production of fruit is often greater than can be supplied to our local markets. We had to do something with our beautiful fruit!
Freeze drying our raspberries helped with the supply and demand issues faced when farming a seasonal, short shelf life crop. Fruitessence was born.
The quality of the freeze dried produce was truly amazing, so we began experimenting with freeze drying other crops that grow in our subtropical/tropical region.
We purchase mangoes, blueberries, strawberries, pineapples, lychees and some of the natives from other small, local family owned farms from the Atherton Tablelands and North Queensland, Australia. We buy their fruit that is perfect for eating, but too ripe to freight to the southern states. We are helping reduce the waste that unfortunately occurs on farm.
We pay all our Aussie farmers fairly so that their small family farms remain viable for generations to come.
